GOLF COURSE DETAILS  The heart of Fairways & Bluewater Resort Golf & Country Club is a world-class, 18-hole, par-72 golf course. The course was designed by Graham Marsh Golf Design, the company run by Australian Pro Graham V. Marsh, M.B.E. Graham Marsh has won over 60 professional tournaments around the world, succeeding in all 5 international golf tours. The company has produced over 30 courses in Australia, Asia, US and Europe. 6 Australian courses have been venues for PGA tour events and one included on the European tour. Marsh has described playing the course as an “experience”, having made full use of the setting to create a course that would not only challenge golfers with some of the technical aspects, but also distract their focus with the variety and beauty of the setting, ranging from views of the tropical jungle to park-like scenes to breathtaking views over the turquoise waters beyond the white beaches.  As Noel Carino, chairman of Fairways & Bluewater, has said, “Every hole should be a ‘Wow!’ hole. The first time you step up on the tee mound, I want you to say ‘Wow!’ “In that sense, we were successful. We painted a beautiful picture on canvas- Boracay, truly a gem worth experiencing” Living Waters, USA, created the rock and water features around the course, including greenside waterfalls, rocky creeks and meandering streams. The company has also designed water features for may top resort destinations around the world, including: Disneyland, California: Indiana Jones, Mickey’s Toontown, Rivers of America, and Fantasmic/Imagination;  Florida: Disney’s Blizzard Beach,Disney’s Wilderness Lodge; Las Vegas, Nevada: ITT Sheraton Desert Inn Hotel and Casino, Shadow Creek Golf Club, Excalibur Hotel, Luxor Hotel and Casino, and Treasure Island Hotel; Beverly Hills, California: The Beverly Hilton Hotel; Jakarta, Indonesia: Rainbow Hills Golf Leisure & Residential Resort The course opened with an inaugural tournament that was the third leg of the Johnnie Walker Super Tour in December, 1997. Ernie Els commented: (Fairways and Bluewater is) “the kind of golf course you need to play a couple of times in order to know the layout. It has a lot of elevation changes, but for a young course, it was a lot of fun… it caught me off guard. It has innovations that make it challenging. Scenic-wise, it’s up there with the best.
